Dr. William Schlosser is a Forest Economist working globally for forest industry and government clients, as he also serves as university faculty researching and teaching environmental science. He began his forestry career in the Pacific Northwest of the United States and Canada starting as a forestland laborer by logging, slashing, tree planting, and wildland fire control. As he progressed through university he built a reputation as a Natural Resource Econometrician, serving on faculty at University of Idaho, Michigan State University, and currently at Washington State University. He spent 6 years working in Russia for the US Department of State as site manager and Chief Forester in the Newly Independent States of the Former Soviet Union. He continued his time in Russia as he managed a US/Russian joint venture (CEO and Operations Manager) harvesting timber from a Russian Concession with 450 Russian loggers and 50 expatriates.
He and his wife founded D&D Larix, LLC, to serve clients to achieve their natural resource management objectives. Dr. Schlosser created and designed the Forest Resource Analysis System Software (FRASS) to aid clients in the valuation of their natural resource assets with market price and cost projections to discover how market timing can attain financial optimality, one timber stand at a time. Put into real time asset valuation discovery, clients use this on-line tool to respond to changing market conditions while also capturing an internationally recognized appraisal report of the timber parcels. Dr. Schlosser recognizes how asset valuation, harvest timing, and non-timber commodity valuation can achieve the apex of financial optimality.
