Andy Hiegel is a field forester and timberland valuation specialist that has spent decades working in the forest industry. He graduated from the University of Washington’s ‘forest management’ program in 1997. Andy also received his Master of Forestry from Yale University in 1999. He is currently a Doctoral Candidate at the University of Georgia in ‘Forest Business’ and is scheduled to graduate with his PhD in 2022.
Andy’s early career was spent in SE Texas as a hardwood forester. This was followed by several assignments working in silviculture in SW Washington State. He spent several years engaged in timberland valuations and acquisitions for large TIMOs, after which Andy consulted individually for large timberland investors by founding his own company. He spent the last year and a half working as an advisor and Head of Forestry for Treeswift, a forestry-based robotics company.
