Managing Director, La Bifurcada SAS
Andrés Normey is a forestry professional focused on the operational realities behind forest investments in Uruguay. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, he works at the intersection of field execution and strategic decision-making, helping align investment expectations with on-the-ground performance.
He holds a Master’s degree in Forest Management from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), with a focus on carbon forestry and project development. His career spans forest management, supply chain leadership, and strategic roles at companies such as UPM.
In parallel, Andrés is an active landowner and operator. He owns and manages more than 1,000 hectares and is directly involved in over 3,000 hectares across integrated forestry and cattle systems. With lifelong experience in livestock production and a specialization in forestry, he brings a practical, capital-aware perspective on land use, productivity, and risk.
Deeply rooted in Uruguay, Andrés maintains a strong network across both the forestry and cattle sectors, providing direct access to opportunities, local partners, and real operating conditions.
Through La Bifurcada SAS, he is actively involved in the execution of forestry operations, working alongside producers and capital partners to implement projects, manage field performance, and translate investment strategies into operational results.
At the International Forest Business Conference 2026, Andrés will share a ground-level view of forest operations and investment readiness, highlighting where value is truly created—and where it is often misunderstood—in Uruguay’s forestry sector.
