Robert is a senior ESG Advisor within the EBRD’s Environment and Sustainability Department (ESD). He is the sector co-ordinator for Power Projects and Heavy industry and focal point for ESG and Performance Requirement 3 \u2013 Resource Efficiency and Pollution Prevention and Control – including Best Available Techniques (BAT). As part of the Bank’s mandate, Robert is involved in project appraisals and due diligence. He has worked on the Bank’s financing of Sustainability Linked Bonds and Green Bonds in the region.\u00a0He is member of the EC Platform for Sustainable Finance on the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD). For the past five years, Robert has been a juror for the Polish Foundation for Responsible Business in Poland and Green Frog\/Deloitte in CEE in selecting best integrated and CSR\/Sustainability annual disclosure reports from listed companies in the region. He has helped to develop the Warsaw Stock Exchange ESG disclosure and reporting guidelines in 2021; inclusive of SFRD, NFRD and TCFD requirements.<\/p>\n
Robert has extensive experience of environmental issues in industry and power sector in Bank’s Countries of operations. This included work on some of the largest privatization due diligence assessments in Eastern Europe as well as project financed infrastructure projects in the region. He has worked on developing the Responsible Steel standard and with the WBC SCI (Sustainable Cement Initiative) on guidance for ESIA and biodiversity management plans. He holds a degree from Kings College London and an MSc from Imperial College London (Energy Policy). Prior to joining the EBRD, he was a Director and Head of the Environment Division of Atkins Europe.\u00a0Robert is an active member of IEMA (Institute of Environmental Management), member of RICS and member of the United Nations Convention on Migratory Species Energy Task Force (UN CMS EFT) \u2013 among others developing post-monitoring guidance for the wind sector jointly with IFC and KfW. He has been elected and served as chairperson of the EBRD’s Staff Council for 8 years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
