Senior Forestry Specialist for the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) of the World Bank
Andrew Mitchell is currently Senior Forestry Specialist for the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) of the World Bank. Andrew is a professional, chartered forester with more than 30 years of on-the-ground experience, having worked in the forestry sector in more than 30 countries. Since joining the World Bank in 2009, Andrew has played a leading role in developing and expanding the Bank’s forestry portfolio in ECA. He has recently managed Bank-funded activities to improve forest management in Belarus, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania, Russia, and outside of ECA, he has continued to provide technical and analytic support to forestry projects in other regions and countries, including India, Bangladesh and Indonesia.
Prior to the World Bank, Andrew worked as a forester and economist for a diverse range of clients, including private landowners, public agencies, and international development organizations.
